Marc Smith worked for several companies as a contractor supporting the engineering team. He really enjoyed helping the engineers get their projects completed, especially because they always seemed so busy and stretched. What he noticed over and over again was how many engineers, working to tight deadlines, did just not have time to implement any efficiency or time-saving measures. Their CAD skills for instance would be just enough to get the job done but they couldn’t pause to pursue mastery. Marc repeatedly took over much of their modeling and detailing so they could spend a higher proportion of their day focused more on pure design and strategy. This work was so personally fulfilling, that Marc suddenly had his ‘light bulb’ moment.
